but hedging won't help when the trends in a currency war are clear.
I'm not sure I understand - hedging just gives you the option to step out of the currency prediction game

BTW on the subject of currency wars I don't think a lower currency is necessarily good e.g a low currency allows foreigners to buy your assets cheap - and can cause your economy to focus on low value add production
