On the flipside of GXY look at PEN to see what happens when a company does decide to 'reward' long term investors. A rights issue like this is no reward, I can buy on market now for close enough to 5.2, it's just an overhang for the next month.

Securing an offtake and debt funding to cover would have been the best outcome to reward investors as there would be zero dilutionary impact.
