If you have lived and worked in Australia all your life you are entitled to receive a pension without any remorse, it is yours.
In being realistic IMHO I do expect that costs and taxes are going to increase above the line in the future so you have to budget for it and get yourself into a situation where your manageable costs and expenses are as low as possible.
In business you calculate what it costs to open the front door each day but I don't see many individuals doing the same exercise.
That is the daily costs that you have no control over that you have to pay to live each day.
