Tonight, German Television reported on ThyssenKrupp's new elevator systems: without ropes, they were driven by permanent magnets (horizontal and vertical). The tests are running at full speed in the 260m high test tower in the southern German city of Rottweil, which has already been presented here. High-rise buildings up to a height of 1000m could be equipped with it. The first high-rise building in Berlin is to be equipped with the new system by 2020.
