aren't you interested in metallurgical chemistry and alloy properties? standard steel isn't what is used in military armour steel.
green steel is being developed. its not in its final form as yet as green hydrogen remains in limited supply. this is why they are initially focused on using recycled steel, to test the system while producing a tradable commodity.
it'll take maybe 5-10 years before green steel is at full and functional production.
just like all other new tech it takes time to work out the bugs and fixes.
