From what I am reading Putin has once again shot his other foot off. The use of one tonne glide bombs against civilian targets has made several EU countries realise this war is set to become a whole lot worse. France is ready to step up military support, as well as UK and most likely Germany. US also looks almost certain to resume aid and Putin's MAGA shills are now a laughing stock. Long range attacks deep into Russia are about to increase and the Crimea bridge will also be a certain casualty. Russia simply does not have the air defence to stop what's coming.
The bottom line is that Putin is prepared to totally destroy Russia as we know it to save his own skin, temporarily of course.
