Until a third party entered. US sponsored/trained sboteurs aka Ukrainian far-right military organisations, that protested against peace, threatening with another Maidan/violence/chaos. Who decided to forget about the Steinmeir peace formula? Putin? Nope. Whatever happened after is just a consequence.
Although Zelensky did get at least a couple of chances to rectify his original mistake. But for some reason he chose war every time. He was probably hoping to get more leverage, as a result of US/EU support? Well, how's that going? Any success?
Nope.
Or maybe he was just doing just like he was told by his US/EU corporate masters.
