Ukraine have suspended elections because Ukraine is under marshal law, the constitution of Ukraine suspends elections under marshal law, Ukraine is under marshal law because of Putin; unjust and unprovoked war against Ukraine.
Putin and his failed war is the reason Ukraine has suspended elections. To imply that Ukraine is a dictatorship or "banning" elections is simply untrue.
What the US has or has not done is not relevant to the point here.
