Yes, those massive strategic defeats of Putin's forces were massive swathes of Ukrainian land liberated in a very short period of time. Running back over the border to safety after a humiliating defeat isn't the victory you think it is. In those instances Putin became Ukraine's largest military supplier.
Though I see the "strategic feint", "tactical withdrawal", and the "goodwill gesture" are all now referred to as "falling back to more defensible positions" with those positions being on Putin's own side of the border, where his forces should be.
Contrast that to Russia trying almost a year for 10's of square kms captured at a colossal loss of Russian troops and equipment being called "huge", you'll have to excuse our justifiable ridicule.
