Very hard to shift this guy. The economy is run by his personally-enriched circle. Most opposition that ever poked its head over the parapet since he took power is marginalised, dead or imprisoned.
Their parliament is his slave and Russian Media is his captive.
He has created a paramilitary National Guard under his personal bodyguard of several hundred thousand who's job it is to protect him.
That will take a fair bit of shifting - presumably only the military has the power, and he seems intent on keeping it busy elsewhere, while conveniently reducing its capacity to overthrow him.
At this stage of proceedings, an assassination by some desperate insider seems the only potential risk, since a coup seems pretty hard to imagine, but...who knows what's really going on - must be a few seriously disgruntled over there.
