    Probably/perhaps because he knew the onerous conditions Putin was insisting on-including the security guarantees, apart from anything else-were never going to happen....and he took into account the long list of agreements and undertakings Putin had already comprehensively violated. Even the Ukrainians have made it abundantly clear they didn't trust Putin's Russia to honour any agreements.....how could they ? How could anyone ? And to throw another dimension into the dynamic of the times you forget the Bucha atrocities had just revealed themselves.
    Stop trying to paint Putin as some kind of hard done by peace loving negotiator and Johnson the great villain and ultimate decision maker...it's an insult to the Ukrainians, fictitious and ridiculous.
