There should be some consideration of the years of preparation of the areas that are currently being contested. I am not disputing that AFU were faster in retaking areas, but I think we can all agree the circumstances were very different to what Russian forces are currently working against. Also, the loss of manpower and equipment etc. as a result of losing two well-prepared towns (also including Avdiivka in the 'critical' basket) may lead to the 'slow and steady' approach giving way to faster movement following a successful capture.
