australia's luck is about ready to run out...after 25 years of good times rolling the country has become soft...there is no political will to consider, let alone enact, true reform...another labor government in canberra would be the kiss of death
increasing GST 50% is a tax rise not tax reform...workplace relations, crafted by inept labor government at behest of union masters, guarantees low productivity...government structure is more suited to colonial times...falling aud means imported prices keep rising(big reason why petrol prices remain high)...manufacturing base has been hollowed out
political gene pool is very shallow...real leaders are MIA...abbott's earnest but a plodder, shorten is a back stabbing union hack with zero executive skills or leadership credentials...
there are good ideas out there but those in power aren't interested in good ideas...
spending has outstripped revenue since kevin '07 took over the reins...the debt pile grows by the day...a recent grattan institute report states that 25-34 yr age group will pay an extra $100000 in taxes over their lives to pay of the decade long string of deficits canberra has racked up...that burden will only increase if something isn't done soon
so any young person here needs to think about that
