    Exactly. For the AFL and for Essendon, Hird needed to be the fall guy but was too selfish. No other club wanted Bomber because the drugs scandal is a cancer that will not go away from anyone involved and it is why Hird will eventually need to go. The players have slowly left to other clubs and retired. It wont take long for most the stench to be gone. So Hird is the last legacy of a bad era.

    So Essendon can only get 10wins against mediocre opponents whilst juiced up. And now even less without juice. Look at what WCE did with the coke regime. Or BNE with the drips and caffine. And the culture that follows them.

    Dont blame Dank. He just provided a service and we dont even know that any substances were banned. Blame Essendon and their heirarchy ie Hird for the unsavory practice and for employing Dank. Then for negligently not knowing anything about the regime or knowing everything and supporting it. And then destroying or not keeping records. For that the actual substance is not relevant. You keep records in elite sport if not for analysing then at least for the welfare of the players.
