Infact MT was more popular than BS as well and the poll before the destruction of the LNP was 49/51.
The 45/55 poll people blabber on here about was at the weekend the PD leadership challenge was moving ahead - even 'internal buffoons in the LP right who caused the destabilisation indicated if MT didn't call it after the weekend that poll was done on leadership speculation it would have been called regardless in that week or the next - here again just for you the press before MT called the spill that Tuesday

So you know what the italic bit means, it means the respondents went to ALP because of the leadership speculation that weekend, so infact SM hasn't even had a honeymoon lift for the LNP back to that 49/51 (a complete disaster) of early August 2018 when teh LNP were not so publicly disintergrating. Now the 44/56 is even worse than the 45/55 btw on the weekend of the leadership speculation so no bounce - the question is if this is the best the LNP can hope for in a bounce (i.e. look at the bounce Rudd got when he replaced Gillard before the 2013 polls and MT over TA before the 2016 election) the LNP should be very worried.
And the irony is not lost on me. I see many who didn't talk about MT's preferred PM status now talking SM's preferred status. The irony when the polls are still south.
It is about policy and so far SM hasn't delivered anything of a policy nature that matters to voters (meaning anything that addresses housing affordability, wages growth and cost of living pressures) as I said in this thread - Post #:

And the other irony is the electorate still hasn't a clue why MT was replaced given SM is of the same vain (except more religeous) and hasn't done much policy wise (except back away from the NEG which in swinging voters eyes is a negative for the LNP and stated some rubbish on industrial relations which is code for we want to pay you even less despite wages been stagnant all these years, which again is another cross for the LNP in swinging voter eyes). So the destruction goes on.
