Self awareness is a peeling away of the layers to our natural truth; whatever that may be and not allowing our passions and appetites to rule over our Logic and Conscience; evidence and observation....
Self-knowledge.... Virtue.... Peace.... Love.....
Being self aware is not a great achievement of life any more then the eye or heart in my opinion. A sense of nature and acting out of that nature for the removal of waste, reproduction, survival of the group, consumption of resources, acquiring resources, a secure position, rest and adaption is predictable for all living beings.
Logic and Conscience is a far great accomplishment of Existence then mere self awareness. Knowing you are cold is not as great an evolution as giving your coat to another and sacrificing your life with the ability to choose otherwise.
