This issue has the potential to ignite and consume the government and politics in Senegal generally so this move is very welcome. The government must move to re-assure its people that they are acting in their best interests in all their dealings with foreign entities. The next step I think should be to hold an inquiry into the BP deal although that might be opening a can of angry worms that lead them into further trouble.
