Police sweep through Melbourne during terrorism investigation
Several people have been arrested following sweeping terror raids in Melbourne overnight.

Victoria Police and Australian Federal Police conducted their Castle Holm counter terrorism operation and arrested seven people, five are still in custody, across Flemington, Meadow Heights, Dallas, Campbellfield and Gladstone Park.

"They are being questioned in relation to allegations that they have been involved in acts in preparation of a terrorist event," Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton said.
The alleged targets were Flinders Street Station, Federation Square and St Pauls Cathedral on Christmas Day.
