In the '80s, before a triathlon where the swim leg was from the Opera house across the harbour to Kirribilli, there had been 4 shark sightings in the harbour in the week before. Everyone was nervous and talking about it. Reckon it was the fastest even swim leg for everyone. Quite chaotic. There were a few small recovery motor boats around for assistance....
