Can I make a topic suggestion STTers? Kind of concerned with macro trends...in particular strategies for dealing with a GFC event. Only strategy other than gold and waiting for bottom I can see is shorting. I've never done it and although I understand the concept...at least I think I do...I want to get familiar with the ins and outs...on a practical level. Now I don't know if there is a board or thread that exists regarding this issue so any guidance would be appreciated. Haven't spotted it in the much revered Knowledge Library. If it isn't I think it would serve as excellent addition Free as it's something that I imagine lurks in most investor/trader's minds.
I'm basically looking for all the "catastrophic event" TRADE strategies the long timers can share. Particularly those who were solid traders during the 2008 crisis.
