Mogga. Just in the interests of accuracy ...... When you call Philip German you would have to go to his maternal grandparents (his mother was a grand daughter of Queen Victoria and his paternal grandfather was George 1 of Greece) to get the Mountbatten name which he adopted later in his life.
He is actually of the Greek and Danish royal families, but that wouldn't sound half as good as "giving a knighthood to German nobility", would it?
