Awarding Bryce a damehood was a ridiculous decision, I said so at the time.
That was just Tony being Tony. He wanted his new GG, a military man, to be a "Sir". Fair enough, I approve. But had he dubbed him and not the outgoing socialist appointee there would have been cries of "unfair, bias" so he made her a Dame. Shouldn't have bothered, he was still roundly criticised.
