On tourism and the development of Myanmar, I have been based in Vietnam for 7 years and have noticed a substantial increase in interest in travel to Myanmar from Vietnamese friends and colleagues. The country is developing, they are opening up and embracing FDI and they understand the importance of this if they wish to replicate the success of countries such as Vietnam. I work in consulting and more and more inquiries are coming through for Myanmar, people often ask for comparisons and companies are looking at Myanmar as a greater opportunity than it's ASEAN peers.
Speaking recently to someone who has a acquired a mine in Myanmar they described the MIC as just a rubber stamp process, and seemed to shrug off any risk of it not being approved.
