The article refers to a "nasty situation" between Synlait and A2M - which has led to the current mess for shareholders and bondholders. One wonders what the nastiness is, but it seems that Synlait bought an argument with A2M that it couldn't win- presumably starting in 2022 sometime and leading to A2M taking action in 2023. Shareholders are caught with no information about that, and no information about management plan to resolve the disagreement and/or fix balance sheet. Whatever Synlait did to anger A2M, it must be big because as the article says A2M really does need Synlait.
