SOA # 2 (100% WI) - Permian section was intersected at 9,287 feet Samson Oil upper target zone.
A significant oil show was also recorded over the interval 9,393 and 9,430 feet in a shaly siltstone.
So we know that we have 37 feet of a consolidated oil play.
Samson had 10 individual, unconsolidated oil plays in the sandstone at intervals down to 10,053 feet with the mud log showing a net 220 feet of oil play. This finding is across an additional 650 feet of depth.
Samson is now evaluating these 10 oil plays with a Slumberger multi-array transceiver that details the fractured shale by injecting a sinusoidal wave-train of acoustic energy and using multi- frequency receivers it detects resistivity, porosity and conductivity that determines the physical property and rock chemistry and mineralogy around the borehole.
Samson will evaluate the 10 oil plays and determine where to start the well.
The SOA #2 well has multiple target zones and they will select the most productive lower target. I have seen vertical wells with 4 producing target zones each takes years to drain but they drain the lower first, then move up to the next play.
Samson may not get to their first discovered “37 foot” target at the interval of 9,393 and 9,430 feet for 10 more years. Of course they would have drained the bulk of the lower 220 feet of oil play and "ALL Y'ALL" would be rich.
