My understanding is that the energy companies are benefitting from solar input to sell to others, so that should cover infrastructure costs and maintenance, ie, they pay the solar producer 6c and charge others 35c or thereabouts.
You would think they were smart enough to have all that worked out before encouraging solar installations.
