    as for Loveridge, he did have extra time added. but that isn't relevant. the point is that he didn't learn much if anything at all from the violent offenders program. when I worked in the bin I knew some of the psychologists who were running some of the programs. they knew that program was merely a tick and flick effort by the prison system. they had no confidence that their efforts were making any difference.

    one such case was a violent rapist who wanted to return to his old hunting ground instead of complying with his parole conditions. a letter was found that he had sent that showed exactly what his plans were. but this was a fortuitous find and rare among the greater numbers of violent offenders. most a re smart enough to conceal their intentions post-release.

    but these are merely examples. the important point is that most prisoners come out of prison with a greater probability of re-offending and this is particularly important for violent offenders.
