    if inmates get on with the upper echelon of crims, they get access to competitive muscle work. no real work, just bulking up.

    weights have been used in prison murders and bashings (on the stairs where there are no cameras). weight training includes using hormones and proteins supplements. these are easily smuggled in by visitors (if you "get on" that is) or by corrupted officers. I was several times offered corruption deals. I made certain to scotch these efforts by immediately reporting such to officers..... with the effect that I received very few attempts to corrupt my practice.

    cultures are different in different sectors of Aus society too.
