meerkat, the market is getting mixed messages here and is responding with a mixture of buying and selling in response. It is as simple as that! On the one hand it is encouraging that metamorphix (which has applera's corporate controller, Ugo DeBlasi, on its board of directors) forming a nice collaborative deal with gtg. This suggests applera is telling metamorphix to sign up with gtg quickly before the price goes up (ie after settlement) and be nice too by helping gtg to get setup to do the same business in asia pacific.(Sounds kind of like everyone is now all buddies helping each other.) On the other hand, this announcement would be a very nice announcement to hear in deed if it were to come immediately after a settlement announcement. So I think the market is a bit rattled as to why merv has chosen to release this announcement first? So, you just have to make up your own mind on this. I wish I could???
