There are two separate Kalis fishing companies, you have Kalis brothers and then there is the less know Austral fisheries started by Theo George Kalis and now George Theo Kalis.
Austral started out as Kalis Francis Vaboom (KFV) and had a fleet of prawn trawlers on the east coast and Gulf of Carpentaria, they still have 10 Trawlers up there but also have 3 big ships catching Patigonian tooth fish and ice Mackeral. Such is the demand for their catch you don't see much if any in local shops.
Yes unfortunately the local produce is in such high demand that they get more money for it in export markets, resturants and not much left for shops
