What makes you think that video was an animation. SpaceX (the company) would be shot down in flames if they had faked that re-entry.
Also just because the Starship didn't make it back through the earths atmosphere does not mean it is a failure. In case you hadn't being following SpaceX in recent years they have a policy of learning from unsuccessful attempts rather than trying to make everything perfect before the first launch (like they would have to do with a manned mission). SpaceX will have collected huge amounts of telemetry data from that now defunct Starship that will help them successfully bring the largest rocket ever launched from earth safely back home again some time in the future and eventually progress to Mars to do the same thing there.
When Elon said that SpaceX was going to land and reuse the first stage of the Falcon rockets the whole world laughed at him and even his own engineers had their doubts as to whether it could be done but after plenty of failures the Falcon 1st stage can now reliably detach from the rest of the rocket, come back down through the atmosphere and autonomously land tail first back on a pad using its own retro rockets and fold out legs. Some of them have been used up to 8 times for a major saving in raw materials and cost for each launch.
