UNDERWORLD figure Mick Gatto has told Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews not to break links with controversial CFMEU secretary John Setka.

Mr Gatto, who has been friends with Mr Setka for years, urged the Labor leader to stick with the union figure even though his name had been dragged through the royal commission into union corruption.

Mr Gatto said he had never voted but hoped Labor would win on November 29. “I like Daniel Andrews. I’ve bumped into him a couple of times and he seems like an astute sort of person — he seems pretty genuine,” he said.
