Graph on the left shows hurricanes becoming less severe since 1950, maybe even 1930 if you smooth decade 1930 to 1949.
So despite more "energy" in the atmosphere there's fewer hurricanes and they're less severe. That's assuming there's more energy. Since we've been cooling since 1950 it makes sense that there's LESS energy and so less hurricane activity.
