Unizoomi, the dividend yields which I have quoted are correct
I cant speak for the whole SSE but the major chinese banks give high yields of 5-6% which represents a ~35% dividend payout ratio. See below for details on china's big 4

Remember, these banks are the largest in the world by total assets and the top 3 Chinese banks all surpass America's largest banks (WFC, BoA and JPMorgan) in terms of total asset, profit and revenue.

As far as I know, some chinese shares do split quite often in general but with regards to chinese banks, they do pay cash dividends
