Why do we complicate things.
Keep it simple....Be in harmony with the market....Strong stocks in strong sectors....Stay away from downtrending stocks in bearish sectors.
@V8 , it is unacceptable to be in the red 4 years in a row during one of the best bull markets....it simply means that you missed the good sectors & concentrated on resource & oil stocks....We just have to change our spots to suit the market.

I feel sad reading your narrative....There is a bit of luck/speculation in the market , but it is far from gambling....You are the gambler butting all your chips in one lottery ticket & you keep piling.
You really need to change or forget "playing" the market altogether.
Sorry to be blunt , but I made many a mistake myself....I came to the realization that if I don't play by the market's rules, I have no hope in hell.
Change we must....If we keep repeating the same mistakes , we better get out.
