Thanks guys it is sort of what I gleaned from the net. Some of the expensive stuff looks good, that said for the type of property it is going on I am really only looking at the very bottom end of the price range as I can't justify a huge expenditure.
Basically just looking for something to keep the backyard in order with little maintenance that is cost effective - thats why I am mainly going for pebbles and bark chips as they can be sprayed a couple of times a year and the backyard will be kept under control. Just been rethinking putting a bit of the cheap stuff over some concrete that's not the best to make it look a bit better - but I am not sure it will last long before going really crappy then will be a problem to remove later.
