This is Queenstown. We visit NZ as I have friends that live in the North and South Island all connected to my large family.
My daughter wasn't really impressed until someone mentioned a haunted castle and yes, we had to visit there. There is a road which goes straight up. Hard to walk it so we tried, lol. Got a few metres and walked back down. You would not want to have vertigo.
Take your hiking boots with you. Lots of trails to walk.
