It's being reported in the press that Glencore has signed a thermal coal fixed price contract with a Japanese customer for US$145. This is normally the time of year that annual prices are settled with the Japanese. Not sure if this price is with a power utility or a general industry customer. A good price for suppliers either way, with spot currently in the high US$120's.
