    If there is a corrupt Presidential candidate in the US that would provide Australia with benefits that are not necessarily in line with US interests in exchange for a cash bribe, it would seem prudent that the Australian government exploit this and donate to curry the favor of the corrupt candidate. This is an apolitical statement. If we could pay the US relatively paltry amounts of cash to do things that are favorable to us, that is a wise investment, regardless of the ethics. Although clearly something along these lines had to be going on, otherwise we wouldn't just dump funding the HIV/AIDS programs the second Donald Trump gets into power after 10 years of dumping cash into it.

    The issue here is that Gillard gave extra money and then went onto attain a related position. It looks dodgy.

    Then you have Julie Bishop pledging 90million to Gillard's Partnership. Wonder if she'll end up working for them later on in her career.
