@ppm56 -
I am an old lady - at least i hope I am a 'lady' haha - was born overseas into a family of semi-Slavic (though Viennese and German-speaking) group of 3 aunties (and 2 uncles as well but they werent' part of this), whose temperament couldn't be any different - 2 of them were into ouija boards, well their version of it, where a table had to move and a system of scribbled numbers of letters as well as a voice answered, mainly because one son hadn't come back from the war - so they tried to contact him. The first time I was part of it, even though I was only a kid, probably just 9 or 10 years old - it didn't work.
Second time - the table moved a number of times - and yes 'the son' was present. One of the sisters was 'the speaker' and she spoke in an unearthly voice (obviously she was the main hysteric who must have been in a trance).
Lots of consternation, fear afterwards - but I distinctly remember thinking later: 'what if all three of them, including myself, did move this table by ourselves and the 'Speaker' made it all up to give her sister some peace?
and this is the consensus now, the unconscious muscle energy of the people around the table, or the board actually make the board move, - if you have more people you can create mass hysteria. It seems our muscles, our body, always move(s), even when we keep very still.
This is documented in psyche literature . . .
and yes, America seems to be the home of weird sects, weirder beliefs and mass murders - and a lying press.
Have you recently checked what weird movies are being shown on Netflix etc.????
With all the knowledge lying about like manna in the desert, we seem to be reverting to our love of the super natural, the sinister etc.
and yes, the believers will say 'it's all the devil's work'
I say, mass stupidity,
mass hysteria.
Sorry
