Now ain't the truth!!!
If there is one thing that sticks out like gonads on a bore pig it's food supply.
Before the world implemented "hydrocarbon driven horse power" which to a great extent would remove the beast of burden from the paddocks, the byways and highways etc, approx a third of all agricultural production went back down the throats of the animals that performed the tasks that hydrocarbons would soon takeover.
That figure does not include the grass that livestock freely grazed. So it was pure production from the fields that had some form of human/animal processing.
As the hydrocarbon power became widespread it removed large numbers of people from agriculture and many forms of flesh and blood driven transportation and processing of agricultural production.
While many people gravitated to cities, food supply was abundant and relatively cheep as there was an oversupply of horse meat which in turn impacted the other meat markets and put them in oversupply as well. The same went for the grain industry and it to went into a state of over production as the beast of burden was no longer requiring the sustenance.
Having a large supply of food stocks in a major upheaval is a big bonus as it helps the transition.
However, this time round we have Crazies wanting to curtail affordable energy production along with food production at a time when food and unprocessed food stocks are measured in only double digit days and not in year or year and a bit supplies.
This time round there is no large store of food for the big change coming.
You are dead right though as most do not see the folly in destroying the balance between food and energy.
There will be no subsidies for the "Clean Energy". No subsidies that can be collected that is.

I wonder when our politicians will realise we don't need nor expect handouts or tax cuts when times are tough and the country is carrying a massive debt, wouldn't it be nice if they just did what was good for the country, perhaps one of the newer parties vying at this coming election will have a better position though i doubt they could ever consider the country going debt free or even being in the black a good thing aahh well i must get back up into the mountains and just leave you lot to ponder.
