The word surplus has dropped from the government's lexicon this year. Such a noble goal, has fallen by the wayside. The global economy is faltering and commodity prices are under pressure. Abbott popped up at stage managed events at factories around the country for the 18 months leading up to the election. The image was ingrained in voters minds before the election. The image portrayed the Coalition providing a business friendly environment leading to jobs creation and growth.
We now are finding more evidence that this was just an act.
The government has been far more interested in class warfare, show trials, the vendetta against the ABC and the pursuit of what they deem to be moral issues (which it turns out the majority don't support).
The front bench just think they can make misleading statements not based on factual evidence, or do anything without repercussions.
The whole government is looking a shambles. For anyone who is trying to understand how Howard's front bench is looking so shambolic - the problem is a failure to develop policy before the election and a lack of leadership on the part of Abbott.

The G20 was a missed opportunity for the government to earn some credibility. The situation in the northern hemisphere in regards to climate change is serious indeed. For the Abbott government to act ignorant on the issue is beyond belief.

They Government have continued to trash parliamentary standards by appointing a speaker who refuses to acknowledge scrutiny of the government.
This is a government which has broken most of the promises it made before the election, and uses the hidden word (surplus) to justify all its actions. Time is running out for the Abbott government to address the issues in the budget.
    Main street is waiting.......
All indications are that Labor will walk this, in two years time.
