As several have alluded to here, numerous factors are important to view beyond P values. That being said, there will still be sticklers in the investment, scientific and regulatory community, so yes sample size and repeatability will need to be increased dramatically next trial.
Sure, we could have 12 patients live for another 5 years, the odds would be incredible, but one could then bring their original diagnoses or other variables into question with such a small sample size...
