As a matter of certainty any share is worth exactly the SP at that time. However, the trick for any investor / gambler is to predict where it will be sometime in the future. The further into the future that 'sometime' is, the greater the downside / upside risk becomes.
In other words, the time of greatest certainty of win/ loss is the present, no risk attached. But the future (ahh! the future) is where risk /reward must be assessed.
