Dollar cost averaging and buying managed funds are a mugs game encouraged by Financial Planners to give you the comfort of safety in size of an asset but stealthily sucking your returns whether positive or negative.

All this talk about gold bubble and bursting together with the USD crash are just good for the classroom/Uni academic discussion and feel good "I told you so" gloat. What ever happened to buy low sell high as opposed to buy and hold.

On 2 previous occasions when gold tested the 1180 level, buying gold exposure would have at least double investments in a short period of time and I suspect this time is no difference although the randomness of market means that one can never be too sure just because we can see a chart pattern etc.
