If you go to the FDA site : Medical products for rare diseases and conditions you can read about the Orphan Drug Designation program.

First you get the standard spiel :

But read a little further, and you find all rare diseases are not equal.

The US Government has assigned the FDA’s Office of Orphan Products Development to promote medical product development for rare neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS

So what is the Rare Neurodegenerative Disease Grant Program. Well, it was put into place to facilitate the Biden Act, Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS.

So then you delve a little deeper, and read the actual Act, passed into law in December 2021.
And this final bit stands out to me :

Yep, USD$100M in grants, per year, 2022 - 2026.

So, the FDA’s Office of Orphan Products Development who has been given the job of administering the ALS Act from Biden, have just had the "golden jackpot ALS/MND" application come across their desk in an election year.

All ODD applications are treated equal, except perhaps a standout ALS/MND application in an election year.

Just saying ... I'm going March 28th.

I would hope that PAA and Berry are 100% onto this, yet might be worth forwarding to MT or Sam?

I wonder how much of that $100m MT could getvhis grubby little hands on? $30m for a ph2/3 would be nice, but one would think there are a lot of people moving in the right circles who are already lined up?
