In case the entire planet has not woken up yet, here is a truth - the complete world is run by the wealthy, and by the politicians who are funded by the wealthy, and who are promised wealth and influence (post their political life), by the wealthy. This is known as democracy (or as some would have it - Demon-ocracy).
And the rest of the world is run by military juntas, generals and majors who murder millions of their own people, with the help of their people's own sons and daughters, who they conscript into the military in order to help kill their parents and families, and subjugate their friends. These generals and majors pilfer all the wealth of their countries for their own. This is called Totalitarianism.
There are only 2 basic types of politics in the world, Demono-cracy and Totalitarianism (the rest fall into sub-categories within these).
Every wealthy person is corrupt.
Every person in power is corrupt.
There is no total and pure honesty.
And there is no other truth.
When we concoct revolutions that replace these wealthy powerful people with others, then the others who replace them also ultimately become just the same as them - wealthy and powerful and corrupt.
This is the cycle that lower order species revolve through, continually. And homo sapiens are near the bottom of the rung.
You will be a better investor, once you acknowledge this truth.
The wealthy and powerful cannot be beaten. Should you purport to do so through some short term luck or brief windfall, then you will either be taxed back into mediocrity, or accused of some crime and thrown into prison (with your wealth confiscated by the state), or murdered. Tax is nothing more than the powerful (under their own rules) stealing your welfare for themselves to distribute and profit from, as they see fit, to their friends and allies.
This is the way the world has always been, and always will be.
Sadly, these sentiments define our species - humanity.
