    you were talking about oz to someone living in France who hasn’t lived in oz for sometime. I live in oz and am visiting France so I made a comment about where I actually am

    that’s how conversations go normally. They spring from comments made by others. (And btw your comment to which I responded could have been taken as a generalisation and your response to bunnwackett commented “every human”)

    as to different circumstances in different countries - well of course - but that makes it even more interesting that there are similar patterns across the world. Maybe globalisation, common economic theories driving much of the world, interaction between nations, common interests, alliances etc have a part to play.

    nations have never been totally isolated and are even less so now.

    people can also live in pockets of comfort in any country other than the most poor or disadvantaged and even there you will find a protected elite out of touch or not caring about others.
