    Lapdog I received my Arts degree some 40+ years ago, in Economics. Even back then the “teaching” was pitched at a level below what I would have thought the lowest common denominator could be.

    An Arts degree as a stepping stone to other pursuits I have no issue with. But to think that someone who has an Arts degree has “achieved” anything or proven any prowess at all is warranted in my view.

    If people want to do an Arts degree I am all for it. However I am not for the cost to be borne by the taxpayer (subsidised like all Uni programs are is fine) as people who choose to obtain an education that is much less useful than a trade for example should not receive public funds to enjoy three or so years of pub crawls, days ars the beach and such other pursuits that students excel at (at least I did).
