we vote for parties for a variety of reasons and policies and one of Turnbulls promises was a plebiscite so we should have one and that should be respected by other parties and the senate especially given most are in favor,what a plebiscite will do is put the matter to rest and group can say they were not heard.
I am not sure how the plebiscites work in Switzerland but they have them quite often when they have been initiated by the citizens.
